Taste of the Nation Orlando 2010

As you know, I was recently invited to attend the 21st annual Taste of the Nation Event in Orlando, Florida on behalf of FoodBuzz. I attended with my date, Elaine of Saturday Night Suppers, and my contest winner, Erin of Our Neck of the Woods.
"Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation® is the nation’s premier culinary benefit dedicated to making sure no kid grows up hungry. Each spring and summer, the nation’s hottest chefs and mixologists donate their time, talent and passion at nearly 40 events across the United States and Canada, with one goal in mind: to raise the critical funds needed to end childhood hunger." {source}
The company was great and the food (and drink!) was wonderful too! My personal favorite was the Seared Duck Breast with Purple Potato Hash and Chili Scented Berry Glaze from Cafe TuTu Tango, while Elaine loved the Waldorf Astoria's Beef Foie Gras and Lobster Stack, and Erin was partial to the Crispy Carribean Shrimp Bruschetta with Cilantro Pesto from Windemere Country Club. We were all smitten with the dessert samplings from Seasons 52 and the choice drink of the evening (for us) was champagne from the Funky Monkey drink table.

We made sure to bid on a few silent auctions and we purchased (several!) raffle tickets. Alas, no winners, but we enjoyed our evening nonetheless.
