This Whole Wheat Banana Raisin Bread is moist, dense and delicious. It's the perfect companion to your morning cup of joe.

Ingredients
 

  • 4 over-ripe bananas mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional

Instructions

  • Thoroughly combine ingredients in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees for 65 to 75 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for approximately 30 minutes, then enjoy!
