I’m not generally a party favor person. I don’t totally understand the concept of going through the time and expense of putting together an event and then also giving out a gift. Isn’t the party enough? I definitely don’t expect gifts when I visit another person’s home. Is it just me, am I being silly? That said, fun little homemade favors that add some humor to a party – that’s something I can totally get behind.
Our Thanksgivings are hodgepodge friends and family affairs. I generally open our home to whomever is around and we make an absurd amount of food and chaos. It’s a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Last year we had a few folks who didn’t really know each other well, so I made a stack of custom coloring pages and we all colored each other and then taped the pictures to the wall. It was a really fun ice breaker, so this time I’m doing mini custom coloring books!

When I was at Walmart picking up paper and colored pencils for our coloring books, I also grabbed a Hormel Cure81 Spiral Sliced Cherrywood Smoked Ham for our Thanksgiving feast. While I’m a die hard turkey gal, my husband is ALL ABOUT THE HAM, and this one looked too good to resist.
What about you? Ham or Turkey – both, maybe???
