Trail Mix is the perfect any-time snack that hits the salty and sweet cravings without busting your diet.
Trail mix is easy. Parenting is hard. I know I say it often, but parenting is HARD. I’m typing this at 2am after putting my three year old back in bed for the third time. And I may have shuttled her into my bed this last go-round, because I know she’ll sleep better there.
Doesn’t matter anyway because the 18 month old has been having night terrors (fun!) so hubby is bunking in the guest room with the baby monitor. It’s a team effort. And it’s exhausting.
This article was developed for Collective Bias and Snapple. Mama Loves Food has been compensated for the associated time and work. All opinions and recipes are mine alone.
On top of that, we’re expected to wake up in the morning, prepare healthy meals, snacks, teach them, entertain them, and hold down careers. All while desperately trying to figure out when if we passed the threshold into adulthood. I’m not the only one faking it, right?
My biggest piece of advice as a mom of five is to carve out some time to yourself. Even if it’s at 2am.
It’s really important to make sure you’re not entirely ignoring your needs for the sake of the kids. Including food. Especially food! One of the most common questions I get since finishing the Whole30 is “but what do you snack on?” – and admittedly, this can be a struggle.
I think healthy snacking – whatever your personal version of healthy may be – is tough for everyone, but especially when you’re being pulled in 13 different directions at once all day (and night!) long.
Because parenting is hard. (Really, really hard). My stand-by snack is trail mix with iced tea. I adore trail mix because it’s so versatile and can be adapted for any diet, it hits my salty and sweet needs, and I can eat it just about anywhere.
I love tea because, tea. I mean, tea is just part of life in central Florida. Please don’t ask me to give up my tea.
I picked up Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea at Walmart along with trail mix ingredients. I’m digging the Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea because it’s available in 3 levels of sweetness (Sweet, Sorta Sweet, and Unsweetened) so you can pick your preferred sweet spot.
Straight Up™ Tea has a Real brewed tea taste without the hassle of having to brew it myself (yay, timesaver!).

I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative
and interesting, and without a doubt, you have hit
the nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I came across this during my search for something concerning this.
