Cheeseburger Dip is the perfect recipe for your weekend get together and makes great football party food!
Cheeseburger dip is proof my obsession with chipotle pepper continues. Is this a nationwide thing? Am I a trendsetter? Probably not, but I’m sure enjoying myself, regardless.
This dip is cheesy, meaty, a little bit spicy, and just keeps you coming back for more and more. I think it will become part of your regular rotation like it has mine! Serve alongside some beer bread or homemade crackers!

Cheeseburger Dip Ingredients
- Ground beef – Since we are browning the beef and then draining off the fat, it’s not very important which type of ground beef you choose. I typically will purchase whatever is on sale.
- Cheese – Processed cheese like American or Velveeta. The processing of this cheese is what makes it melt so smoothly and work perfectly in this dish.
- Diced tomatoes with green chilis – the name brand is Rotel, but most markets carry an off brand version as well. Either will work great!
- Ground chipotle pepper – This is where the heat comes from, so start slow and then add more as you are comfortable with the spice level. When my kids are eating it, we add just a pinch for flavor. You could also use smoked chipotle pepper!
- Garlic salt – Make sure you’re using garlic salt, not just granulated garlic. That extra bit of salt is a nice flavor booster.

More Ways to Eat Cheeseburger Dip
If we’re being completely honest, I’ve been known to throw some in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. Mmmmmm… also, bonus – the recipe is gluten and grain free!
Not a dipper? Pour it over your hotdog or bratwurst! Mmmmm, seriously. I love this stuff. Oh, over a baked potato is pretty amazing too.
Can I Make Cheeseburger Dip Ahead?
This dip is awesome, because it can be made up ahead of time and stashed in the refrigerator for a couple days or the freezer for as long as several weeks. No more slaving over the stove while everyone else is partying it up.
Reheat cheeseburger dip in the microwave or on the stove top. Be sure to stir frequently.
