How do you make bacon in the air fryer? (step-by-step)
⭐ First, preheat your air fryer, if you’re worried about smoking, place some water in the bottom of the basket.
⭐ Next, place bacon in the basket in a single layer. It’s okay if the bacon touches a little. You can crinkle or twist the bacon to make more room too.
⭐ Then, cook until you reach your desired crispiness.
⭐ Finally, drain grease from basket and wipe down with a cloth or paper towel between batches.
Preparation
Can you make air fryer bacon ahead of time?
Yes! Making bacon ahead is one of my favorite things to do! Cook as directed, allow to cool, then store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for a few days or in the freezer indefinitely.
How do you keep the air fryer from smoking when making bacon?
If your air fryer smokes, try putting a little bit of water in the bottom of the basket before cooking. Also, make sure to drain the grease before cooking a second batch.
Storage and leftovers
How long does the bacon last?
You can keep leftover bacon in the refrigerator for 3 – 4 days or longer in the freezer.
Can you freeze bacon?
Yes, yes, yes! Frozen cooked bacon will be good indefinitely. (Seriously! It freezes so well!). Allow the bacon to cool, then store in an air tight container. Reheat in the microwave or even in the air fryer for just a minute or two.

How to Make Air Fryer Bacon
Air Fryer Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon 16 ounces
- optional spices, brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
- Place bacon in air fryer basket in a single layer. It's okay if there's some overlapping, or it doesn't lay completely flat as it will shrink as it cooks. You can also scrunch up the bacon or twist it to fit more in the fryer.
- Cook for 8 to 11 minutes, checking it occasionally, until it gets to your desired crispiness. (Ten minutes was perfect for us).
- Drain grease from basket and wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel between batches.

I’ve noticed you don’t give temps for your recipes. That’s seems to be the main thing I need. I have a PowerXL Air Fryer Grill Combo.
