Potato Soup with Instapot Directions
This potato soup is not only my husband’s favorite meal, but the most popular recipe on our entire site! I love that it’s been updated with instapot pressure cooker directions. It’s so quick and easy to make, also there’s no heavy cream!
I love this instant pot cabbage soup when I’m in the mood for something light on fat and calories, but filling and delicious. It’s a total lunch staple for me and freezes beautifully.
Can you believe this instapot balsamic pot roast was made from frozen in about an hour! And tasted amazing! It’s incredible what you can accomplish with pressure cooker recipes.
My kids go through about a million hard boiled eggs a week so I was thrilled to learn you can make them in your instapot! We pile a dozen or more in at a time. It’s so convenient.
Another light on the calories, heavy on flavor option is this chicken zoodle soup. The recipe provides directions for instapot, slow cooker, and stove top!
I don’t know if there’s anything more nostalgic for me than vegetable beef soup. This one is made in the instapot and creates the most tender beef you’ll ever have in a soup. I could eat it every day!
Chili with beans is good, but sometimes I want a really intense beef chili and this is the perfect recipe for that. You can make this recipe on the stove top or in in the instapot! Make a big batch and freeze for later!
Instant Pot Recipes – Tips and Tricks
- Always use at least 1/2 cup liquid when cooking in your instant pot. I usually use at least one cup, just to be on the safe side.
- Never quick pressure release liquids like soups and broths as it can cause scalding food to come out of the pressure release valve and burn you. It can also cause the pressure release valve to jam in future cook sessions.
- Grab a few extra rubber seals if you cook fragrant foods a lot, as these absorb odors and will get stinky!
- Ditch the slow cooker, because your instapot can double as one! No need to take up all that shelf space.
Roasting a whole chicken takes a looooooong time. And and if you don’t do it right, or do it too long, it comes out dry and tasteless.
But voila! In the Instant Pot, it comes out moist and juicy and flavorful and it takes less than half the time!
M’mm….brisket. But it tends to present the same problems as a whole chicken. Plus, who wants to wait all day to get a bite of juicy beef? I don’t!
I love baked potatoes, but I hate having to heat up the oven and wait for them to cook. I think it’s amazing that I can make a whole batch of yummy baked potatoes in just a few minutes with my instapot!
Barbecue Beef sandwiches are one of my all time favorite meals, but in order to enjoy them I have to really plan ahead or else I face the risk of not getting my beef into the slow cooker on time.
I don’t have to worry about that with this recipe! Isn’t that amazing??
Barbecue chicken ranks right up there with barbecue beef. I love that I can just throw it in the instant pot, and in a few minutes I’ll have a juicy delicious meal for the entire family – no excessive waiting!
Can we talk about ribs for a minute? They’re delicious, and a TOTAL summertime staple, but they take FOREVER to make. I’m not even kidding – to get a good, juicy slab of ribs there are a lot of steps involved!
The Instant Pot takes all that work out of the equation, but you still end up with the same result – delicious, juicy, yummy, wonderful ribs. Yum!

Tikka Masala is incredibly yummy. When you’re done cooking your chicken, you can throw your rice in the pressure cooker and poof! Instant meal!

Chicken salad is pretty much already amazing. Chicken salad made from a roasted chicken is even better. Chicken salad made from a roasted chicken that you didn’t have to wait hours for??? Incredible.

Instapot Recipes – Pot Roast
Instapot Recipes - Pot Roast
- 3 pounds beef chuck roast can be frozen
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup water
- OPTIONAL: root vegetables, as desired carrot, potato, etc.
- 2 tablespoons OPTIONAL: corn starch
- Optional: Turn instant pot to saute mode and with a small amount of oil, sear all sides of chuck roast. Skip this step if in a hurry or if roast is frozen.
- Add vegetables (if using), and chuck roast to inner pot of instant pot.
- Mix onion soup mix with one cup of water and pour over meat and vegetables.
- Cover, lock, and set pot to 'sealing'.
- Turn on manual for 40 minutes if seared, 45 minutes if thawed but not seared, and 60 minutes if frozen. Meat should be tender when finished. If meat is not cooked to tender, turn back on to manual for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove meat and vegetable from instant pot and place on a serving tray. In a small cup or bowl combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and mix well.
Turn instant pot to saute mode and bring to a simmer. Pour in corn starch slurry and stir well.
Continue stirring until sauce thickens.
