Oreo Fluff Ingredients
- Instant pudding – We like cheesecake flavored for this recipe, but you could also use vanilla, white chocolate, or cookies & cream (also called oreo pudding).
- Milk – Cold. Whole milk will give the best flavor and consistency.
- Whipped topping – Like Cool Whip. Original/full fat for best results.
- Oreos – Or other similar sandwich cookies, crushed.
- Mini marshmallows – Plain.

Preparation
Can you make oreo fluff salad ahead of time?
Yes, in fact it needs to be made at least an hour ahead so it has time to chill and set. This can also be made a day or two in advance so you can prep ahead for your party or event!
What kind of pudding mix for oreo fluff?
We prefer cheesecake pudding as it adds a delicious richness. You could also use vanilla, white chocolate, or cookies and cream.
How can you lighten up oreo fluff?
This is definitely most delicious made as written, but if you’re looking for something a little more diet-friendly, try using low fat milk and sugar-free pudding!
Leftovers and storage
How long does oreo fluff last?
This will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Make sure to store in an air tight container for best results.
Can you freeze oreo fluff?
You can freeze the leftovers (try freezing them into popsicle molds for a fun treat!), but I wouldn’t freeze to serve later. This recipe only takes a few minutes to prepare so it’s best to make fresh.
Tips, tricks, and frequently asked questions
Can you make oreo fluff with cream cheese?
Our recipe calls for cheesecake pudding so you get the richness of the cheese flavor without using cream cheese. That said if you chose to use vanilla pudding, you could absolutely whisk in a few tablespoons of softened cream cheese!
How do you make chocolate oreo fluff?
Simply swap the cheesecake pudding for a chocolate pudding (dark chocolate is my personal favorite) and you’ll have the exceedingly decadent (and very delicious) chocolate version of this recipe.
What’s the best way to crush oreos?
You can make quick work of it in a food processor, but honestly, unless ‘m making a huge batch I typically just use a rolling pin on a clean surface or over a gallon bag filled with oreos.
Make it colorful
If you’re serving this for a special occasion, whisk in a few drops of coordinating food coloring. How cute would this be as pink for a baby shower or green for St. Patrick’s day!
What to eat with oreo fluff salad (serving suggestions)
In my mind this is definitely a party food, so we like to serve it with grape jelly meatballs, taquitos, and crack chicken dip. Need a second dessert? Try our muddy buddy recipe!

Wait… what?? Oreo Fluff?! It was so easy to make and SO SO GOOD! Why haven’t I thought of this dessert combo in the past. I dipped with Nilla wafers because it’s what we had on hand. But next time, I’ll save some extra oreos to dip in the fluff. YUM!

Bold of you to assume that I wouldn’t eat this as a meal.

Fair point! (Although, I don’t know if I’d have it as a full meal, need to finish with something salty 😏)
