In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. In a separate, large bowl, whisk together the milk and vegetable oil.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in small increments, mixing just until everything is wet. It's okay to see some clumps.
Pour batter into a prepared loaf pan*, not more than ⅔ full (use a second pan if necessary).
In a small bowl, whisk together the cinnamon and sugar. Spoon half of the mixture onto the top and then use the edge of a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture in. Do not overmix.
Evenly spread the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the bread, and bake on the center rack of a preheated 350℉ oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
When finished baking, remove from oven and carefully turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
