Instant coffee is key. This recipe only works with instant coffee. Regular ground coffee will not whip into the fluffy foam needed for dalgona coffee.
Use an electric mixer if possible. A hand mixer or milk frother will whip the mixture in about 2–3 minutes. Whisking by hand works but can take 8–10 minutes.
Adjust sweetness to taste. The classic ratio is equal parts coffee, sugar, and water, but you can slightly reduce the sugar if you prefer a less sweet drink.
