Grape and Prosciutto Appetizer Skewers are the perfect recipe to serve at your next party. Simple, delicious, and healthy make the ideal dish. This article is a partnered conversation written by Mama Loves Food on behalf of UF/IFAS. Opinions and text are all ours.
What is it about putting food on a stick that makes eating so much more fun? Not that this combination ever had trouble winning our hearts!
Ripe sweet red grapes, salty, buttery prosciutto, and peppery arugula make such a fantastically delicious bite. These Grape and Prosciutto Appetizer Skewers always disappear quickly in our home, and even the kids cant resist sneaking a sword.
We believe it’s so important to introduce our kids to a wide variety of healthy options at all ages. Treats are great, but isn’t it even better when the treat is something healthy that you don’t mind feeding your family!
The first time I made these, my boys crinkled their noses and said, “Mom! Who puts ham and grapes and lettuce together?!” So, of course I corrected them that this is so much more than ham, and grapes, and lettuce.
It’s a perfect storm of sweet, salty, and peppery. It’s joy in your mouth! Ahhhhh. I like to serve these Grape and Prosciutto Skewers alongside some high quality blue cheese and a deep red wine. Mmmmm. Fizzy water for the kids, of course.
For folks who may want a little help and information geared toward getting your family active and eating well, I’m excited to introduce you to a resource my family has loved for years. The UF/IFAS pronounced “U – F eye-fas” is the University of Florida (go Gators!) Institute of Food and Agricultural Services extension, and it is brimming with resources.
The UF/IFAS Extension helps Florida (and non-Florida!) families eat healthy on a budget with food education, healthy eating tips, and delicious recipe ideas. The percentage of people aged 12 to 19 who were obese increased from 5 percent to nearly 21 percent from 1980 to 2012, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
These children often suffer from Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure–problems generally associated with adults.
UF/IFAS Extension has a local office in each county that provides tools for parents to help their kids lead healthier lifestyles, and curb childhood obesity. You can visit https://sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/map/index.shtml to find your local office.

A great recipe! My girlfriend and I are very fond of eating all kind of salad, especially with fruits. But this one is really great, have tried a lot of recipes, this one will be one of my favorites. It’s great to make such salad on a picnic with my friends and have some great time together. It’s very delicious. I wish everyone can try it. A huge plus of salad is that they are not very caloric, they will perfectly suit those who follow their figure and like to eat deliciously. I am looking for more recipes with fruits from you.
