This Quick Breakfast Fruit Skewers Recipe is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Jimmy Dean, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #JDGreatStart https://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
Have I mentioned that my home is pure chaos in the morning? P-U-R-E chaos. So, I’ll do pretty much anything to cheat the system and get a good meal on the table with less effort. Thankfully my kids feed themselves breakfast. Well, first breakfast anyway.
If it’s easy to reach and prepare, we let them go for it. So far they’ve conquered cereal, oatmeal, sandwiches, apples, bananas, and leftovers that don’t requite an oven or stove. We try to guide the kids toward what we’d like them to choose by putting those items in plain view, like on the first shelf in the refrigerator or on the kitchen table, but let’s be honest, I’m not crawling out of bed at 5:30am to check.
I’m not at all (at ALL) a morning person, so when I finally slink into the kitchen around 8:30, the kids are hungry all over again. And while they’ve been enjoying the day for several hours at this point and have worked up an appetite anew, all I want in the world is coffee and quiet. shhhhhhh…
Thankfully, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to sating them while keeping my efforts to a minimum. One of which is these fun little fruit skewers I can make up in bulk ahead of time. They come together quickly and I can easily tailor them to individual tastes. Also, it’s food on a stick. I don’t know a single kid person who doesn’t love food on a stick. (Why is that, exactly?). Serve them up with a bowl of eggs and bacon or breakfast sandwiches and you’re having yummy weekend style breakfast any day of the week!

I found these Jimmy Dean microwave breakfast options at Publix along with the fruit and small skewers. I’ll tell you a secret, I even bought pre-cut fruit. I feel silly admitting this, but sometimes it’s so worthwhile to be able to spend my time elsewhere – like enjoying the family instead of slaving over the stove to make eggs or the cutting board to get everything in perfect bite-sized pieces. When I have the time it’s great to work from scratch, but there’s no shame in getting help when you need it either!
