Preparation
Can sausage English muffins be made ahead of time?
Yes, these can be made ahead and reheated. Store in the fridge or freezer and reheat in the toaster oven, oven or air fryer.
What is Old English Cheese spread?
It is a processed spreadable cheese that is typically found near the Cheez whiz or Velveeta in the grocery store. It is a sharp and flavorful spread that works perfectly with the sausage in this recipe.
If you can’t find Old English Cheese spread in the grocery store, you can substitute with Velveeta cheese, Cheez whiz or any other processed cheese that melts well.
Storage and leftovers
How do you store sausage English muffins?
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. These are best reheated in the oven or air fryer but the microwave will also do the trick.
Can you freeze sausage English muffins?
Yes, these are a great frozen breakfast option! Freeze the sausage english muffins in a single layer on a baking sheet for 2-4 hours until completely frozen. Then wrap the muffins individually in plastic wrap and place in a freezer safe ziploc bag.
These can be reheated straight from the freezer. Place in a toaster oven, air fryer or oven at 350 degrees until warm and toasty!

If you prefer a different protein or don’t eat pork, you can use turkey sausage, chicken sausage, or even a vegetarian sausage alternative. Adjust seasonings as needed to match the flavor profile of the original recipe.

Yes, you can use gluten-free English muffins to make this recipe suitable for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. Ensure all other ingredients are also gluten-free to avoid cross-contamination.
