This creamsicle popsicle recipe is a total throwback to my childhood and the perfect treat on a hot afternoon!

As a Floridian who is married to another Floridian and who has spawned nearly a half dozen mini Floridians, you can believe we drink a lot (really lot) of orang juice.  And in the summer, one of our favorite things to do is make popsicles.

Yesterday I decided to mix things up and try fixing a creamsicle popsicle recipe.  You remember creamsicles, right?  Mmmmmm.  Only two ingredients, a few hours to set, and I was transported back to my  childhood.  Nostalgia tastes good, folks.

This was originally a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Florida Department of Citrus . All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard of Captain Citrus?  Captain Citrus helps empower kids to eat healthy and reinforces the importance of 100% Florida Orange Juice and the Amazing 5 as part of a healthy and yummy diet!

He’s armed with super powers and has a knack for making smart choices.  Captain Citrus is the world’s newest comic book hero and travels from Florida to schools across the country to help teach kids about nutrition.  Appearing alongside Marvel’s popular Avengers Assemble characters in a series of custom comic books, Captain Citrus battles villains while helping to convey the values of the Florida citrus industry and the importance of making smart choices about nutrition.

My 7 and 8 year olds love comic books so they were totally into reading about Captain Citrus and his adventures.  The comic books are a great way to use entertainment to teaching valuable lessons like making smart nutrition choices. It can be challenging to get your kids to make good food choices, but continually providing healthy options and fun reminders are a great way to lay the groundwork.
