Frozen sex on the beach
This recipe makes a delicious frozen drink as well! Add 1 – 2 cups of ice per serving to your blender along with the drink ingredients and then blend until smooth!
Virgin sex on the beach
To make a virgin version of sex on the beach (or fun on the beach as we call it with our kids!), just swap the vodka for sprite and the schnapps for peach juice. (We like to use the liquid from canned peaches.)
My kids love this, especially with extra cherries, orange, and peach slices on top!
Preparation
How do you make it by the pitcher?
We typically consider a pitcher to be 8 servings. To make a pitcher, multiply each ingredient by eight (exact measurements provided below).
Fill pitcher with ice, add the ingredients, then stir before pouring.
Can you make it ahead of time?
You can make this recipe ahead of time, but make sure not to add the ice until immediately before serving (or it will melt and water down the drink). Store prepared cocktails in a sealed container in the refrigerated for up to two days.
Tips, trips, and frequently asked questions
What kind of vodka?
This is totally a matter of preference! Honestly I typically grab whatever is on sale since you’re mostly tasting the flavors of the juices and schnapps.
Save the expensive stuff for sipping!
Why is it called sex on the beach?
Theories abound, but the most prevailing is that it was given the provocative name by bar tender Ted Pizio in the 1980’s when he was trying to move peach schnapps during spring break in Florida.
Serving suggestions
We like to serve this drink along with other sunny beachy inspired faves like grilled flank steak, roasted asparagus, and creamy lemon pie!

Tools we love
- Glass pitcher – Everyone needs a gorgeous glass pitcher! Perfect for water on the weekdays and cocktails on the weekends!
- Stemless wine glasses – I am a huge fan of stemless wine glasses for cocktails as they’re much less likely to tip over. Read = I am clumsy.
- Upright blender – Frozen drinks deserve a good blender. Make sure you use one that can blend ice easily.

Love the beautiful color!! We make this with sprite all the time. It’s a huge hit with my family!
How much sprite do you add? And do you still add everything else?
The sprite is only for a non-alcoholic version, exact directions are in the notes section of the recipe card ๐
