These Spider Cookies made with Sugar Cookie and Caramel are the perfect easy to make spooky treat for your Halloween party!
Spider Cookies
Let’s just chat a minute about how much I love Halloween. We started visiting costume stores in August if that gives you any indication.
Mind you, I almost never dress up these days, but it’s the whole season and drama and funness of it all. I’m sorry. I’m not sure funness is a word. But I’m gonna use it anyway. Halloween is funness embodied. Also, mini candy. Yum.
So, when Allison from Cupcake Diaries invited me to take part in her 30 Days of Halloween Series, I jumped at the chance and started brainstorming immediately.
Despite not being much of a baker, I fell in love with the idea of spider cookies after seeing a bag of mini rolos go BOGO at my local market. (Can we also talk about how much I love BOGO sales?!).
These Halloween Sugar Cookie and Caramel Spider Cookies were insanely easy to make and came out insanely cute.
My kids couldn’t get enough of them and we were able to send a batch to the neighbors who loved them as well!
I find that if you keep your dough in the freezer and roll it into balls while it’s still partially frozen or really cold, then the cookies will be a nicer shape and won’t run quite as much.
I can’t even properly explain how much I love these eyeball sprinkles. I want to put them on absolutely everything. Aren’t they just the CUTEST?!
My kids were absolutely jumping out of their skin to get ahold of these cookies and they had so much fun delivering them to the neighbors house! I just love when treats are both delicious and cute. Soooo fun!

How to make Spider Cookies
Spider Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 batch sugar cookie dough I used the stuff from the refrigerated section of the market
- 1 bag mini rolos
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips melted
- 1 package sugar eyeball sprinkles
Instructions
- Bake your cookies according to package directions (I made mine on the small side, 20 total from one tube).
- As soon as you remove them from the oven, gently press a mini rolo into the center of each cookie, then place two eyes gently against each rolo (the rolo will be a little melty so the eyes will stick).
- When the rolos are cooled completely, put melted chocolate in an icing bag with a small tip (or sandwich bag with the tip cut off) and draw legs. Allow chocolate to set.
- ENJOY!
