How to Make a Simple Fall TrifleTrifles are the best desserts to bring to a party – why you ask?  They’re fancy looking but oh so forgiving.  No worries about smudging the icing or tipping the cake.  Layers don’t have to be straight or level, if the cake turned out a little wonky looking no one will ever even know!

And trifles are so easy to adapt to a season or theme.  Use color coordinated layers – food coloring in the whipped cream (or icing), flavorings (pumpkin spice or peppermint!), and fun toppings like colorful candies and sprinkles!

We had a blast putting together this Simple Fall Trifle and even more fun disassembling it into our mouths.  We used a clear glass bowl, but considering what a hit it was, I think we’ll be investing in a trifle bowl soon. Yay!

We used Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme®  Caramel Cake Mix made with Mott’s® Apple Sauce Original (available in a whopping 48 ounces!) instead of oil (if you do this, watch closely as it will cook a little faster).  I whipped my cream with a little Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup for extra Fall flavor, and we layered the trifle with new M&M’s® Pecan Pie candies!  I also grabbed a Snapple® Apple Single 16oz juice at Walmart to enjoy while baking, when I was picking up the other ingredients.
