Simple Fruit Slush RecipeIn Florida it is already summer season.  Vegetable gardens were planted months ago and we’re in full “DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STAY COOL” mode.  So, of course I make lots and lost of slushes.

My kids are obsessed with getting them from the local general store.  We have one in our neighborhood just about a mile away and they like to lure me out on walks and then ask for a slush as soon as we’re far enough away from the house that it seems like a really reasonable (and refreshing) request.  And while I don’t mind buying them as a treat every now and again, we’ve started making this healthier (and just as yummy!) version at home.

My favorite thing about these slushes is they take as few as two ingredients (like the one in this post), or as many as you want!  They make a great mocktail too – serve it in a fun cup with an umbrella straw and pretend you’re at an all inclusive resort.  Ahhhhhh.

I picked up a 24 count pack of SunnyD in the refrigerated section at Sam’s Club where it’s on rollback for only $5.38.  I like to keep a case of drinks in the car for after soccer or park dates and this is a deal you just can’t pass up.
