Cranberry Apple Butter just makes me happy! I could eat holiday food from September through December and be happy as a clam.  I don’t know what it is about turkey and cranberry sauce, but I just absolutely love it.

Cranberry Apple Butter Ingredients

  • Apples – Peeled if desired and sliced.  I like to use Red Delicious, but you can use whatever type you love.
  • Cranberries – You’ll want to use fresh cranberries or fresh/frozen cranberries.
  • Orange juice – Fresh orange juice or from concentrate, either is fine.
  • Vanilla extract – Make sure you’re using real vanilla extract and not imitation.

How do you make cranberry apple butter? (Step-by-step)

First, add all ingredients to your slow cooker  and cook on low.

Next, give it a stir, then use your immersion blender (or very carefully use your upright blender) and puree it until smooth.

Finally, if it’s at the consistency you like, then congrats! you’re done! If you like it thicker, then continue to cook uncovered on low for an additional 1 – 3 hours (stirring occasionally).

Slow Cooker Cranberry Apple Butter is the perfect condiment for your turkey dinner! It's also amazing on biscuits, pancakes, over ice cream or even yogurt!

Ingredients
 

  • 4 pounds of apples I used Red Delicious, cut but not peeled*
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon real vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to your slow cooker (I used a 7 quart), and cook on low for about ten hours (overnight is fine).
  • Give it a stir, then use your immersion blender (or very carefully use your upright blender) and puree it until smooth.
  • If it's at the consistency you like, then congrats! you're done! If you like it thicker, then continue to cook uncovered on low for an additional 1 - 3 hours (stirring occasionally).
  • Enjoy!

  1. I love apple butter, but never realized that it was so easy to make at home!! Great recipe!

  2. I would like to make this recipe for holiday gifts but nowhere do you say how much volume this makes. Would be much easier to do if I had an idea of the number of jars I will need! Please advise. I have noticed, by the way, that you have not responded to any comments for either this recipe or the 3 Ingredient Apple Butter recipe. Hope that you are still alive and kicking.
