In Florida it is already summer season. Vegetable gardens were planted months ago and we’re in full “DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STAY COOL” mode. So, of course I make lots and lost of slushes. My kids are obsessed with getting them from the local general store. We have one in our neighborhood just about a mile away and they like to lure me out on walks and then ask for a slush as soon as we’re far enough away from the house that it seems like a really reasonable (and refreshing) request. And while I don’t mind buying them as a treat every now and again, we’ve started making this healthier (and just as yummy!) version at home.
Two Ingredient Summer Fruit Slush, Ingredients:
- Frozen fruit (I used strawberries) – 1 part
- Fruit juice or drink (I used SunnyD) – 1 part
Two Ingredient Summer Fruit Slushi, Directions:
- Add everything to a blender and blitz until you reach slush consistency.
I picked up a 24 count pack of SunnyD in the refrigerated section at Sam’s Club where it’s on rollback for only $5.38. I like to keep a case of drinks in the car for after soccer or park dates and this is a deal you just can’t pass up.
