Berry Milkshake Ingredients
- Berries – We used frozen berries in the milkshake and fresh berries on the skewer. All fresh would work great too!
- Ice cream – I am partial to vanilla ice cream for this recipe.
- Milk – Whole milk will give you the richest flavor.
- Cake – I find pound cake is the easiest to slice into nice looking cubes. We purchased a pre-made one from the grocery store freezer section.
How to make a triple berry milkshake with cake kabobs (step-by-step)
⭐ First, in a blender combine ice cream, berries, and a splash of milk.
⭐ Then, intermittently blend and scrape sides, adding milk as necessary to reach desired consistency.
⭐ Next, slice pound cake into squares (this works best if the cake is semi-frozen), and skewer with fresh fruit.
⭐ Finally, pour milkshakes into glasses and garnish with cake kabobs.

Preparation
What kind of berries for a berry milkshake?
This is a matter of preference but we used a combination of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. The blackberries do have bigger seeds though so if the texture will be bothersome, you can skip those.
What kind of cake for the dessert kabob?
Technically you can use any kind of cake you like, but I’ve found the density of pound cake works best.
To get clean slices, try partially freezing your cake before slicing (or if your cake is frozen, cut before it’s fully thawed).

Tools we love
- Stick blender – Possibly the most used gadget in my entire kitchen. The key to making a hand blender useful versus a giant pain in the butt is to rinse it immediately after using. That way you’re never trying to get crusty dried goop out from under the blades.
- Ninja blender – We. Love. This. Blender. It blends all the things! Beautifully!
