Air Fryer Dog Treat Ingredients
- Flour – All-purpose flour.
- Pumpkin – Pumpkin puree. This is different from pumpkin pie filling, make sure to use just the puree.
- Peanut butter – Natural peanut butter.
- Eggs – Large.
How do you make dog treats in the air fryer? (step-by-step directions)
⭐ First, add the pumpkin puree, peanut butter and eggs to a large mixing bowl and mix until fully combined. Add in some of the flour and mix until combined.
⭐ Next, add in some more flour and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough by hand and add in the remaining flour as needed until the dough reaches a soft, not sticky consistency.
⭐ Then, lay out a large piece of parchment paper and dust lightly with flour. Roll out the dough on the parchment paper. Use a cookie cutter of your choice to cut out the treats and place them on a tray.
⭐ Finally, line the bottom of the air fryer with parchment paper and place as many treats that will fit without the edges touching. Cook until just lightly browned on top. Remove and let cool for a few minutes.

What kind of peanut butter to use for air fryer dog treats?
We used natural peanut butter with no added sugar for this recipe. It’s also important to check the label for xylitol. Xylitol is toxic for dogs. Natural peanut butter typically leaves those two ingredients out which is why we opt for it in this recipe but make sure to double check your label.
What kind of pumpkin puree to use?
The brand of pumpkin puree shouldn’t matter too much but make sure not to use pumpkin pie filling. The added spices and flavors will not sit well for your dog. Make sure to grab just pumpkin puree or use homemade.
Are these air fryer dog treats hard or soft?
Air fried at the time and temperature listed, these will be nice soft dog treats. If you want to make harder dog treats, add about 3 minutes to the cook time.
Storage and leftovers
How long do air fryer dog treats last?
Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
Can air fryer dog treats be frozen?
Yes, store in a freezer safe, airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Remove and thaw and in the fridge before letting your furry friend enjoy!
Tips and tricks
✅ If your air fryer doesn’t allow the temperature setting to 370, set it to the next closest temperature setting.
✅ When placing the parchment paper in the bottom of your air fryer, make sure to cut the parchment paper to the size of the bottom so it lays nice and flat.
✅ This recipe makes about 40 treats, you can half the recipe to make less or double to make more!
✅ Use your favorite cookie cutter to make these fun doggie treats!
Important notes
- Only use natural peanut butter with no added sugar and zero xylitol. Xylitol is toxic to dogs and added sugar can affect their blood sugar. Natural peanut butter options are easy to find in just about any grocery store.
- You can use all purpose flour or wheat flour. Both are safe for dogs.
- If your air fryer doesn’t let you set it to 370, use 365 instead. If it also doesn’t have that setting, use the next closest, as long as that option isn’t very far over the suggested temperature.
- If cooking only a couple at a time in a larger air fryer, the treats will want to curl. This won’t affect their taste, so don’t worry about it!
- If you need softer treats, keep the cook time as listed. If you want a crunchy treat, increase your cook time by three minutes or until the treat has reached the right consistency. Be careful to not burn the treat.
- These treats will not cook the same as an oven treat, if baked in the oven you’ll need to experiment and adjust the cook times.

These treats are so fun and actually quite healthy for your pup! While we don’t recommend giving your dog cookies or treats from our recipe box, you can certainly enjoy a treat alongside your dog like some red velvet cookies, lofthouse cookies. or no bake monster cookie bars.

How to Make Air Fryer Dog Treats
Air Fryer Dog Treats
Ingredients
- 2 ¾ cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup pure pumpkin puree
- ⅓ cup all natural peanut butter (with no sugar or sweeteners)
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Add the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs to a large bowl and mix until fully combined. Add in 1 cup of flour and mix until combined. Add in another cup of the flour and mix until a doughy mixture forms.
- Knead the dough by hand and add the remaining flour as needed, until the dough reaches a soft, but not sticky or crumbly consistency.
- Lay out a large piece of parchment paper and sprinkle lightly with flour before placing the dough onto the prepared surface. Roll out to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut out as many cookies as you can with your cookie cutter then cook in batches in a parchment lined air fryer. Keep the treats in a single layer space them so they are not touching.
- Cook on 370℉ for 4-5 minutes (until just starting to brown) for soft treats or 7 - 10 minutes for crispier treats. Remove and allow to cool on a wire rack before storing in an air tight container.
