Preparation
Do I need a steamer basket to cook instant pot corn on the cob?
We used a steamer basket in the pictured recipe, but you can also cook them without the basket.
Alternatively you can place the corn on a trivet or directly in the pot.
How many ears of corn can you cook in the instant pot?
The limit is only how many you can fit into the pot under the maximum fill line.
In the pictured recipe we cooked 4 ears (in a 6 quart pot), but more will fit. You can cut the corn into smaller pieces to fit more.
How long does it take to cook corn on the cob in a pressure cooker?
Corn on the cob takes two minutes at pressure followed by a 5 minute natural release. A pot typically takes about 10 – 15 minutes to come to pressure, for a total cook time of 17 – 22 minutes.
Can I cook the corn with the husks on?
Yes, add one minute of pressure cooking time if you prefer to cook the corn still in the husk.
Storage and leftovers
How long does leftover corn last?
You can keep the leftover corn in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave, air fryer, or instant pot.
Can you freeze leftover corn?
Yes, allow the corn to cool to room temperature, then store in a sealed air tight container for up to several months.
