- Bread – A sturdy loaf like brioche or French bread.
- Eggs – Medium or large eggs.
- Vanilla extract – Pure, not imitation.
- Cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
- Brown sugar – Light or dark
- Milk – Whole milk is my preference
- Blueberries – We used fresh, but frozen will work too.
- Cream cheese icing – Homemade cream cheese icing or store bought
- Topping – Butter, brown sugar, flour
How do you make a blueberry French toast bake? (Step-by-step)
⭐ First, place half the bread, torn into pieces in a casserole dish, drop half of the cream cheese icing over the bread, then sprinkle half of the blueberries over. Repeat with the remaining amount of each.
⭐ Then, in a large bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and milk. Pour over bread, being sure to moisten as much as the bread as possible.
⭐ Next, mix ingredients for topping and sprinkle evenly over casserole.

Blueberry French Toast Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of sturdy bread about 14 ounces
- 8 eggs
- 2 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 3 cups milk
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- Cream cheese icing 1 batch
TOPPING
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
Instructions
- Tear or cut bread into bite sized pieces. Place half of it into a 9x13" casserole dish. Drop half of the cream cheese icing by spoonfuls over the bread, then sprinkle half of the blueberries over. Repeat with the remaining half.
- In a large bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and milk.
- Pour batter over bread, being sure to moisten as much as the bread as possible.
- In a small bowl with a fork or pastry cutter, mix ingredients for topping. Sprinkle over casserole.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes, until baked through and browned on top.
