- Garlic – Fresh garlic cloves, minced.
- Parsley – Flat leaf Italian parsley.
- Pepper – Fresh cracked black pepper.

⭐ First, prep ingredients by allowing butter to come to room temperature, mincing garlic, dicing chives & parsley, and measuring pepper.
⭐ Next, using a spatula, mix ingredients together in a medium sized bowl.
⭐ Then, store in a glass air tight container, or turn onto a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper, form into a log and wrap tightly.
⭐ Finally, refrigerate until ready to use.

Yes, in fact I find that this butter is even better after it’s been refrigerated overnight at least. It will keep for several days in the refrigerator.

We used chives, garlic, parsley, and pepper for this version but you can absolutely use what you love or whatever you have on hand.
Sometimes we will add rosemary, basil, paprika, or even chipotle powder.

How long does compound butter last?
The butter will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or longer in the freezer. Make sure to store it in an air tight container.
Can you freeze garlic herb butter?
Yes, I find it freezes best when formed in a log and wrapped in parchment paper then plastic wrap. It will keep in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature a few hours before using.

You can also melt it over baked potatoes, baked sweet potato, mixed with homemade egg noodles, on grilled or air fried corn, and even in mashed butternut squash!
