Peanut Butter and Granola Candy Apples

My kids are total apple-aholics, so when we saw candied apples in the store recently they were all jaws agape and eyes like saucers.  Spoiler alert: I didn’t buy them.  But I did say we could make our own healthier version at home!

I loved the crunch from the granola and the flavors worked perfectly together.  For an even easier version you could cut apples into wedges and dip one half in peanut butter then granola.  Wouldn’t have quite the same novelty, but would be a bit neater.

Peanut Butter and Granola “Candy Apples, Directions:

  1. Remove the apple stems and push a stick in its place.  I used plastic drink stirrers, but popsicle sticks or skewers would work as well.

Peanut Butter and Granola Candy Apples

This Peanut Butter and Granola Candy Apples recipe was originally developed for Collective Bias and BJ’s Wholesale. Mama Loves Food has been compensated for the time and work. All opinions and recipes are mine alone.

Peanut Butter and Granola Candy Apples

We used Bear Naked’s new fall flavor, Sea Salt Caramel Apple Granola, for our “candied” apples.  It’s available at BJ’s Wholesale Clubs and is really delicious.  The flavor is a uniquely sweet and savory combination and we like it as a snack and also with milk like a cereal.  And, of course, on apples!

Right now there’s a coupon available at the front of BJ’s Wholesale Club for $2 off your purchase of Bear Naked Granola, and it can be used alongside the $2 off iBotta coupon, for a total of $4 off your purchase!  The ibotta app on your phone gives rebates for items you purchase! You can sample the Sea Salt Caramel flavor at chain-wide in store demos on September 5th, where they will also be offering the $2 off coupons.
