Preparation
Do you rinse the carrots before cooking?
Baby carrots often come pre-washed and ready to eat or cook, but make sure to check the bag. Full size carrots will need to be washed and peeled.
Can you make air fryer carrots ahead of time?
These are really best enjoyed right away when they’re hot and fresh out of the air fryer. You can get your prep going a day or two ahead by cutting and trimming the carrots if you’re using full sized.
How can you tell when air fryer carrots are done?
The carrots are finished when they are tender and beginning to brown and caramelize on the outside. How tender and browned will be a matter of preference, but we like them cooked for around 15 – 20 minutes.
Whole carrots, if larger in circumference, may take longer.
Leftovers and storage
How long do air fryer carrots last?
Leftover carrots will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Store in an airtight container for best results. The leftovers would be delicious swapped out for the pumpkin in this savory pumpkin soup.
Can you freeze air fried carrots?
Yes, but they may become mushy when thawed and reheated. We prefer to just cook and eat them on the same day.
How to reheat leftover carrots in the air fryer
To reheat, pop the carrots back in the air fryer for a few minutes at 350F to crisp them back up. Watch closely.
