Crock pot ravioli
Want to make baked ravioli in a slow cooker? This is a great idea! Prepare the dish the same was as directed in the recipe, except in the crock pot insert rather than a casserole dish.
Cover and cook on low or high until dish is heated throughout and cheese is bubbly. Garnish as desired before serving.
Preparation
Do I have to cook the ravioli before baking?
In this recipe, the ravioli does not require cooking before it is added to the dish. The liquid and heat from the baking casserole will cook the ravioli.
Can you make baked ravioli ahead of time?
Yes, if making in advance I prefer to assemble it and then bake right before I’m going to serve.
Alternatively, you can bake the casserole, then reheat individual servings as desired.
Can I use jarred pasta sauce in ravioli casserole?
Absolutely, this recipe is so easy and only three ingredients when you use a jar of spaghetti sauce from the market.
What vegetables in baked ravioli casserole?
The recipe as written doesn’t call for veggies, but you can definitely add some! Here are a few ideas:
- Sweet peppers
- Diced tomatoes
- Spinach
- Mushrooms
- Olives
- Eggplant
- Onion

Leftovers and storage
How long does baked ravioli last?
Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for 3 – 4 days if stored properly. Store in a sealed air tight container for best results.
Can you freeze baked ravioli casserole?
It can be frozen before or after cooking. If freezing after cooking, make sure to allow it to cool before covering and freezing.
You can even dish it out into individual containers and then freeze for quick lunches and dinners. We like to use these leftovers storage containers.
How to reheat leftovers?
Individual servings can be reheated in the microwave on high power in 30 – 60 second increments.
Larger portions can be reheated in the oven on 350F until heated through (15 – 30 minutes). Make sure to use an oven-safe casserole dish.
Can you cook a casserole from frozen?
You can cook this baked ravioli from frozen if the dish you are using is freezer to oven safe. You will need to add about fifteen minutes of covered cook time at the beginning.
Tips, tricks, and frequently asked questions
✅ Use fresh grated cheese – it melts better because it doesn’t contain anti-caking agents.
✅ Make it with sausage, ground beef, ham, bacon, or turkey – this is a great way to use leftover roasted turkey or crock pot ham.
✅ Give it a kick with red pepper flakes.
✅ Make two casseroles and freeze one for later – or gift one to a new parent or a friend in need.
✅ Add veggies – make it a full meal by baking the vegetables right into the casserole.

We love this with easy garlic knots and antipasto salad. It’s also the perfect dish to bring to a potluck along with a strawberry pretzel salad or ambrosia salad for dessert!
