If you want to make this dip in the slow cooker, you’ll just need to add all the ingredients to your slow cooker after they’ve been mixed together. Spread it evenly, then top with extra cheese and sliced jalapenos. Cover and turn on low for about 30 – 60 minutes.
Preparation
Can you make cheesy jalapeno spinach dip ahead of time?
Absolutely! Make this a day or two in advance and then pop it in the oven right before you’re ready to serve. You can even prep it and freeze it.
Can I use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream?
Yes, plain unsweetened Greek yogurt is a suitable substitute for sour cream.
What type of cheese for jalapeno spinach dip?
We like a combination of colby jack and pepperjack cheese. You could also do a combo of cheddar and mozzarella for lots of flavor and a great cheese pull.
Leftovers and storage
How long does jalapeno spinach dip last?
Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for 3 – 4 days, or in the freezer for up to a month. Store in an airtight container for best results.
Can you freeze jalapeno spinach dip?
Yes, it can be frozen either before or after baking. To freeze before baking, follow the instructions up to the point of when you would put it in the oven. Cover with an airtight lid, or wrap tightly in two layers of foil. You can freeze for 1 – 2 months before quality will begin to deteriorate.
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bake per recipe directions.
Can you bake it from frozen?
To bake the dip recipe from frozen, cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and dip is heated through.

HUGE crowd pleaser It was the first dip to go at our girls night!
This is one of my favorite dips for potlucks! It’s always a crowd pleaser too. And it’s good warm and cold!
Spinach dip with a kick..there is nothing more addicting!! Easy to make & such a crowd pleaser!
I love this dip, in theory. I haven’t made it yet, but I certainly shall. Pickled jalapeños are a great ingredient, I use them a lot, most recently to top an open-face pimento cheese sandwich (homemade) — outstanding! This dip would make a good sandwich — I’m all about sandwiches! — all by itself or perhaps with chicken, even leftover Thanksgiving turkey, if people occasionally want a leftover turkey sandwich that didn’t include stuffing or gravy. Although cranberry sauce might be interesting. Or bacon, or whatever floats your boat.
But you need to revisit your 2-quart baking dish recommendation and read all the reviews about how it’s liable to crack for no apparent reason, often breaking in two and leaving very sharp edges, in one case leading to an ER visit and 9 stitches! I was going to buy it, but No Way, José to that!
