Nutella cookies are easy to make – only four ingredients – and might just be the best cookies you’ve ever had!

Nutella cookies are the mash up of two amazing desserts.  They are so simple and decadently delicious.  Chewy, fudgy, and so chocolatey! My husband declared them “the best ever!” We like to serve ours after a dinner like turkey chili, and beer bread.  Mmmmmm!

Nutella Cookies Ingredients

  • Nutella – Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut spread that tastes great on nearly everything.  Spoon included.  The nutella is what gives these nutella cookies a chewy fudgy flavor and texture.
  • Egg – The egg works as a binder and also gives richness and volume to the cookies.
  • Flour – Just a little bit of flour.  We use self rising, so there’s no need for additional salt or leavener.
  • Chocolate chips – The chocolate chips are optional, but not really.

How Long To Bake Nutella Cookies

We baked our nutella cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 13 – 15 minutes.  We made a batch of twenty two small cookies with the 1/2 tablespoon as a scoop.

At this time/temperature they came out perfectly chewy and delicious.  If I made larger cookies I would increase the cook time by a couple minutes.

Are Nutella Cookies Healthy?

Nutella cookies are not healthy per se, but everything in moderation is what they always say.  Our nutella cookies are 88 calories each, or 5 Freestyle Weight Watchers points each.

Will Nutella Cookies Harden After They Cool?

If the nutella cookies are stored in an air tight container, they should stay plenty chewy and delicious.  You’ll especially want to make sure they’re dried in a sealed container if you live in a dry climate.

Tools for Making Nutella Cookies

  • Silicone baking mats – Nothing sticks to these!  Whaaaa?!  Perfect for baking sugary cookies, or cheesy croissants.  You know why? Because nothing sticks to these!!!
  • Bakers half sheet – It’s cool, we only have about six of these bakers half sheets because they’re good for absolutely everything.  Cookies? Yes! Steak? Yes! Cake? Oh yeh! Roasted veggies? Uhhhh huh!
  • Electric mixer – I love love love love love (x’s 100) my stand mixer.  Really and truly.  But my daily work horse is this handheld electric mixer.  It even comes in allll the colors.  Which, yay!

EASY NUTELLA COOKIES

Nutella cookies on vacation

I came up with the idea for these nutella cookies while we were on our recent Alaskan cruise with Princess Cruise Lines. As you may already know, one of my favorite things about cruising is the sea days.  It’s forced relaxation – a day of no responsibilities and lots to keep you busy.  But only if you want! (There are so many things to do on a cruise!)

NUTELLA COOKIES ON AN ALASKAN CRUISE

Nutella Cookies by the Ocean

On sea days I like to wake up late, hit the coffee shop for a nutella stuffed donut (see where I’m going here…), lounge on my balcony, shop, play some bingo, and then swing by the buffet for lunch.  Where of course, I’m going to get their famous chocolate chocolate chip cookies (ahhhhh, there it is).

So one afternoon after indulging in a nutella donut for breakfast and a chocolate chocolate chip cookie after lunch, it occurred to me that what we really needed was a mash up recipe – a nutella cookie! With chocolate chips, of course.  Mmmmmm.

Where to eat nutella cookies

Nutella cookies can be eaten anywhere, but I believe they are best eaten while plotting or enjoying a grand adventure.  In this past year we’ve cruised through the Panama Canal, explored Costa Maya Mexico, and most recently gone from Vancouver BC to Whittier Alaska.  And that’s only the exploring we’ve done by boat!

Taking cruise trips has allowed us to see so much more of the world than had we tried to do it by air or car.  I am so in love with cruise travel and truly hope everyone gets the opportunity to experience exciting new places.  In the mean time.  Join me in a nutella cookie?

These yield the most perfect crinkly tops. It’s hard to beat chocolate and hazelnut together.

These are BEYOND amazing! Nutella anything and I am SO in!

  8. Miranda Hart says:

So easy it’s hard to imagine they would fail due to baker error… but mine were flat as a dime, looked nothing like the photo either. Tasted ok but with Nutella and chocolate chips anything would taste good. Poor texture.

  9. Hi! I made these last year and they came out perfect, just like the picture I just made them and they were nothing like last years. While baking the cookies looked like they were in puddles of grease and the cookies were flat and crispy. I followed the recipe. Could it be the Nutella?
