Toasted Ravioli Ingredients

  • Ravioli – Frozen ravioli. You’ll want flat/square shaped ravioli for this recipe. We like the cheese stuffed ravioli, but this can be made with meat ravioli also.
  • Breadcrumbs – Italian style breadcrumbs.
  • Parmesan cheese – Grated parmesan cheese.  The shelf stable kind in the green plastic canister works great!
  • Eggs – Large, beaten.
  • Oil – Optional, for browning.

How do you make toasted ravioli? (step-by-step)

First, in a small prep bowl mix the breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.  In a second bowl whisk your eggs.

Then, dip each ravioli into the beaten eggs followed by the breadcrumbs. Press ravioli into the breadcrumbs to make sure they stick.

Next, if desired, spray lightly on both sides with oil and place in a single layer on your baking surface.

Finally, cook until browned on both sides and heated through, flipping half way through cook time.

If you have a convection setting on your oven, this will crisp them up even more!

Preparation

Do you need to defrost frozen ravioli first?

No, this can be made without defrosting the ravioli.  I actually think starting with frozen keeps the center from turning into molten lava so they’re more enjoyable to eat.

What kind of ravioli for toasted ravioli?

The flat square shape found in the freezer section of your market will work best.  We prefer cheese filled, but you can use whatever stuffing you love!
