Creamy Italian Dressing
Creamy Italian Dressing Ingredients
- Mayonnaise – Pick a brand that you love, as the taste will shine through. You could even make it homemade if you’re feeling especially crafty!
- Balsamic Vinegar – Again, choose a balsamic vinegar that you love. When making something with so few ingredients, each one will provide its’ own unique flavor.
- Dried Italian Seasoning – A good blend of Italian herbs like oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, and various other spices. Don’t just pick up any old Italian seasoning; find a brand you like or make your own.
- Garlic Salt – This staple should be in everyone’s cupboard, as a dash adds flavor to so many dishes!
- Ground Pepper – Do I have to tell you that freshly ground is best?

How To Make Creamy Italian Dressing
⭐ First, place everything into a bowl
⭐ Next, whisk everything together!
⭐ Then, enjoy!
⭐ Finally, store any leftovers in the refrigerator

Is Creamy Italian Dressing Vegan
Creamy Italian Dressing is not vegan due to the mayonnaise. However, you can substitute a vegan mayonnaise when making the recipe in order to create a vegan dressing.
Is Creamy Italian Dressing Keto
Creamy Italian Dressing could fit into a keto diet due to its’ high fat content. Balsamic vinegars sometimes contain carbohydrates, depending on how they are created, so be sure to check that before adding and add that carb count to your daily total.
Can I Use Creamy Italian Dressing As A Marinade
You can use Creamy Italian Dressing as a marinade. It would work best with a meat like chicken or perhaps fish. It would also be a nice marinade for some vegetables or for skewers going onto the grill!

Is Creamy Italian Dressing Good For You
Creamy Italian Dressing is not necessarily “good for you” due to the high fat content. However, most salad dressings are used in moderation and are used in combination with a healthy blend of vegetables in the salad, so can be part of an overall healthy diet.
Mayonnaise made with healthy oils, like olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil or other nut oils will incorporate healthier fats, so would be a good choice to make the dressing healthier.
Is Creamy Italian Dressing Safe To Eat When Pregnant
You can eat Creamy Italian Dressing when pregnant, as long as your dressing does not contain raw egg. Commercial mayonnaise should be fine, as it is processed to kill any bacteria, but if you are making your mayonnaise from scratch the egg will be raw; because of this pregnant women should avoid homemade mayonnaise or dressings made with it.

Can I Use Creamy Italian Dressing As A Dip
You can use Creamy Italian Dressing as a dip! Creamy dressings stick well to dipped vegetables or crackers so this one would lend itself well to a try of crudites.
Try dipping your pizza in it – the Italians will really think you are exotic then!

Does Creamy Italian Dressing Contain Gluten
Homemade Creamy Italian Dressing does not contain gluten, as there are no gluten containing ingredients. However, to be absolutely sure, you should check the mayonnaise you use for gluten. Although not an ingredient of mayonnaise, the mayonnaise may not be certified gluten free if it is made in a production facility that may have cross-contamination possibilities. Even spices may sometimes may a concern depending on where they are produced.
If you have celiac disease or are gluten sensitive, you may want to always take the extra step of contacting the company via their website or toll free number to confirm gluten free status.
Does Creamy Italian Dressing Contain Eggs
My Creamy Italian Dressing recipe does not contain eggs, although the mayonnaise used may contain eggs. If this is a concern for you, look for a vegan mayonnaise when creating the recipe.
Does Creamy Italian Dressing Contain Dairy
Creamy Italian Dressing does not contain dairy, despite the “creamy” in its’ name. The word creamy is describing its’ consistency, not the addition of cream or dairy.
Can I Make Creamy Italian Dressing Without Mayonnaise
You can make Creamy Italian Dressing without mayonnaise by substituting sour cream or vegetable oil. If you use the oil, choose a good quality one like avocado oil or macadamia oil and be sure to blend or shake thoroughly.

Homemade Creamy Italian Salad Dressing
I find that salad dressings are something I always forget at the market. Which, better than forgetting bananas I guess, since my kids would hang me out to dry for that. Also, I can’t just make bananas from items in my cupboard.
The nice thing is that it doesn’t require any funky kitchen gadgets and there’s no dairy, sugar or weird preservative ingredients because it is a homemade creamy Italian dressing. Ever since I realized how easy it was to make my own salad dressings, it’s become a bit of an obsession.
They don’t all work out, but I’m loving this one. I’m especially partial to creamy dressings because I feel like they stick to the lettuce better and have a more well rounded flavor. It’s also wonderful for marinating chicken or using as dip!

Tools we love
- Mason jars – Wide mouth mason jars are my favorite way to prepare and store dressings!
- Stick blender – Possibly the most used gadget in my entire kitchen. The key to making a hand blender useful versus a giant pain in the butt is to rinse it immediately after using. That way you’re never trying to get crusty dried goop out from under the blades

I'm wondering if instead of mayonnaise you could use Greek yogurt? I'd like to know what you think :).
i think it probably would work. it would add a little more tang than the mayo, but would probably still be yummy 🙂
This quickly became a staple at my kitchen! So good and easy to make.
I much prefer making fresh homemade dressings to store bought. This is a great example, so creamy and delicious with none of the unpronounceable ingredients! Delicious!
My family enjoyed this more than traditional Italian dressing. I tried it on a green salad, can’t wait to use it in pasta salad!
Once made…..how long can you keep in fridge before discarding if not all used?
I made it like the directions stated, it tasted too much like balsamic, so here is what I did to muddle the balsamic flavor some what. The color I got was a gray hue. Good luck.
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoon sour cream
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 – 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
dash of dill weed
dash of ground pepper
