Preparation

Can you make edible cookie dough ahead of time?

Yes, you can make a day or two ahead and keep in the fridge, or longer and keep in the freezer.

Why do you heat the flour in edible cookie dough?

It’s important to heat treat the flour because flour is a raw ingredient. Heating the flour to at least 165F makes sure to kill any dangerous pathogens.

What kind of mix-ins for edible chocolate chip cookie dough?

We like semi-sweet chocolate chips, or sometimes mini semisweet chocolate chips to make this recipe. Scroll down a little to see other mix-in ideas!

Can you bake edible cookie dough?

While this tastes just like the real thing, it will not bake up like normal cookies as it’s missing a few key ingredients (eggs and baking powder or baking soda!). If you want to bake try our classic chocolate chip cookie recipe!
