This ice cream recipe will keep in the freezer for about a week, but homemade ice cream is best eaten within 2 or 3 days of preparation.

How do you store homemade ice cream?

Keep the ice cream in a tightly sealed freezer safe container.  The less air space in the container, the better. You can press a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the ice cream before closing the container to keep the air exposure to a minimum.

  6. Sharon Crandall says:

Could you use cream of coconut instead of sweetened condensed milk? If not , would adding it affect the recipe or how it freezes?

  7. Can you use cool whip instead of heavy whipping cream?

  8. Made this for a camping trip. It was a hit! So easy and so good. My friends said it was every bit as good homemade from an ice cream maker!

Made as instructed and used my ice cream machine. There wasn’t much pineapple flavor unfortunately, it seemed overpowered by the flavor of sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream. I might try a different flavor. It was a quick no fuss way to make ice cream.
