Preparation
Can strawberry cake mix cookies be made ahead of time?
Yes, these can be made a day or two in advance. Store in an airtight container at room temperature until ready to serve.
Is it okay if my dough is sticky?
Cake mix cookie dough tends to be on the sticky side, this is totally normal. I like to use a tablespoon sized cookie scoop to easily make evenly sized dough balls.
What brand of cake mix for strawberry cake mix cookies?
Any brand of mix will work. Don’t worry if the boxes are slightly different sizes, this recipe is very forgiving!
Storage and leftovers
What’s the best way to store strawberry cake mix cookies?
The cookies should be stored in an airtight container and can remain at room temperature for about three days. Longer than that and you’ll want to store your cookies in the refrigerator or freezer.
Can you freeze strawberry cake mix cookies?
Yes, you can freeze these cookies. Allow them to cool completely, then store in an air tight, freezer safe container for up to 3 months.
To thaw, allow the cookies to come to room temperature and then enjoy!
Frequently asked questions
How do I make these crinkle cookies?
To make strawberry cake mix crinkle cookies, skip dipping them in chocolate and instead roll the balls of dough in powdered sugar before baking. Get a nice thick coat of powdered sugar on for a good crinkle!
Do I need to grease my cookie sheet?
These can be baked on an ungreased cookie sheet, but I prefer to bake them on a silicone baking mat or parchment paper so I never have to worry about sticking.
What kind of chocolate to use for dipping the cookies?
Chocolate candy melts or almond bark will work great for this recipe. Chocolate chips will also work but don’t melt quite as smoothly. Dip in either white chocolate or brown chocolate, however you want your cookies to look and taste!
What to enjoy with strawberry cake mix cookies (serving suggestions)
These cookies are so easy to make and take hardly any time at all. Make them with some slow cooker meatball stroganoff, jalapeno cheddar biscuits, and chocolate cherry cheesecake dip!
