How do you make bagels in the air fryer? (step-by-step)
⭐ First, fold together the flour and the yogurt. Knead until no longer sticky, sprinkling in a little extra flour if needed, and form into a ball. Cut the ball into 4 even sections.
⭐ Next, form each of the sections into a ball, and gently pinch a 1″ hole into the middle, shaping the outside into a ring about 1″ in diameter.
⭐ Then, brush the tops of the dough with the whisked egg, and sprinkle on any desired toppings. Gently transfer to the basket of your air fryer.
⭐ Finally, bake until cooked through and the tops are golden brown.

Preparation
What kind of flour for air fryer bagels?
This recipe calls for self rising flour. It is very important to use this specific type of flour as it has leavening ingredients already added.
Self rising flour contains salt and baking powder so if you don’t have any self rising flour you will need to add those two extra ingredients to your cracker recipe.
What kind of yogurt for air fryer bagels?
You’ll want to use full fat plain Greek yogurt. I know it sound like magic, but the combination of Greek yogurt with self rising flour makes a delicious (and protein filled) bagel.
How do you know when bagels are done in the air fryer?
The bagels are done when they’ve puffed up (nearly doubled in size) and browned on the outside.
Air fry until puffed up in size and golden brown on the outside.
Storage and leftovers
How long do air fryer bagels last?
These will keep up to about a week at room temperature in a cool dry environment, up to two weeks in the refrigerator, and indefinitely in the freezer.
Do you have to refrigerate air fryer bagels?
No, bagels can be kept at room temperature. Store in an air tight bag or container for best results.
Can you freeze air fryer bagels?
Yes, to freeze, allow the bagels to cool completely, then store in an air tight freezer safe container in the refrigerator.
I like to slice the bagels in half before freezing so you can pop them straight from the freezer into the air fryer, toaster, or microwave to heat.
Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
Make sure to create a nice large hole so they don’t close up like some of ours did! 😂
Tips, tricks, and frequently asked questions

No, this recipe requires self rising flour. Self rising flour contains leavening agents (baking powder and salt) which are what work with the yogurt to create a light and fluffy bagel.

Some of my favorite bagel seasonings are:
- Cinnamon
- Kosher salt
- Everything bagel seasoning
- Chili seasoning
- Taco seasoning
What type of air fryer is best?
This method will work in any brand air fryer that is at least 3 quarts. We’re partial to the COSORI Air Fryer Max XL.
My husband likes to mix cinnamon into the dough, but I love topping with savory things like kosher salt or everything bagel seasoning.
What to eat with air fryer bagels (serving suggestions)
Top your bagels with our favorite spreads like cream cheese dip, everything bagel dip, white bean spread, or spinach artichoke spread.
Serve them alongside other breakfast faves like breakfast burritos, blueberry scones, and pancake muffins.
