Sherbet punch with ginger ale is the perfect party punch for your next baby shower, wedding shower, summer party, or random Tuesday afternoon!
If you love a sherbet punch recipe with ginger ale, then this Sherbet Punch is just what you need! It’s been served at nearly every holiday party, baby shower, wedding shower, and large gathering in our family for the past decade.
And not because it’s a tradition but because it’s so (so so so) delicious and refreshing. This awesome punch recipe is also insanely convenient because the ingredients can all be kept on hand in the pantry or freezer!
Want to make it a little more “grown up” – just add some vodka! Yum! Other things we like to serve at parties are stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped crackers, and southwestern eggrolls.
Sherbet Punch
Sherbet Punch Ingredients
- Orange sherbet – Not orange ice cream, make sure it’s sherbet!
- Strawberries – Frozen strawberries from the market are ideal for this sherbet punch recipe.
- Sliced peaches – Frozen peaches from the market also!
- White grape juice – White grape juice adds the perfect amount of tang.
- Ginger ale – Ginger ale puts a touch of bubbly into the party punch and lightens everything up.
- Optional: alcohol – We like to add vodka (you can’t taste it!), but wine and schnapps are also delicious.
Sherbet Punch for a Baby Shower
Orange is a neutral enough color for a baby shower when you don’t know the sex of the baby, but if you want to make green punch for baby shower, maybe try adding lime sherbet instead of orange. I bet it would be absolutely delicious!
Or you could add pink sherbet if you knew it was a girl!
Sherbet Punch Family Recipe
I have to credit our good family friend Mary for this awesome punch recipe (featured here on the left) about to make the punch for my sister’s wedding shower 5 years ago!).
She introduced us to the sherbet punch recipe with ginger ale and we’ve been slaves to it every since! And on the right is Danielle, her daughter and my almost-sister, spiking it with vodka. Because, mmmmmm.
Sally (my actual sister) and Danielle have been friends since Kindergarten. I can’t even imagine how much of this sherbet punch they’ve consumed over the last thirty years. Probably a lot. Hopefully not all spiked. Haha!
Sherbet punch recipes with ginger ale abound on the internet, but this one with white grape juice and frozen berries is the best. The besssssssst.

Should the ginger ale and juice be room temperature or chilled? I figure the frozen fruit may need them to not be real cold to help melt the fruit. What do you recommend?
April says
room temp is fine! 🙂
Oana says
I want to make this for our party on Sunday but I don’t know how much Vodka or Moscato to add….please help! Thank you!
April says
Hi Oana! We just add to taste if we add it to the punch bowl, but normally we just put the alcohol next to the bowl and tell folks to add little themselves. That way those who aren’t drinking alcohol can still enjoy the punch 🙂
Ruth says
Just give me an idea how much vodka. I would rather put it in the punch bowl. Can you just give me an estimate.
April says
About half of a standard bottle of vodka.
connie pace says
we do it pineapple juice , and I have done it with rainbow serbert and hawian fruit punch
April says
love that idea for Hawaiian sherbet punch!!!
Kristy says
I’m so gonna give this a try. If I like it which I’m sure I’ll love it, I’ll do it for my baby shower in September
Kelly says
This sounds so good but I dont like ginger ale at all can you taste it? Or is it OK to use sprite or something like that instead? Also I seen about the Hawaiian punch with the fruit punch instead of white grape juice, and the rainbow sherbet instead of orange sherbet is that correct? I’m not good at just mixing stuff and hoping for the best lmao want to make sure I am getting this right cause I wanna try this both ways
April says
It doesn’t taste like gingerale per se, but the gingerale does add important flavor notes. hope that makes sense!
yes, you could do fruit punch instead of grape juice and rainbow instead of orange 🙂
Brandy says
Made this today at work for our double baby shower and it was a hit! Everyone loved it and one of the pregnant girls said it was her new pregnancy craving! Thanks so much for this recipe. I will definitely be making this again!
April says
so glad you loved our sherbet punch!!!
Marissa says
Can I use champagne?
April says
yes!
Najia says
Can you make this without the sherbet? I want to put it in a drink dispenser/glass cooler but afraid the sherbet would lose its purpose if you can’t scoop it out.
April Woods says
No, the sherbet is a main ingredient. I would just allow the sherbet to melt so you get the flavor! 🙂
LD says
I mage this with rainbow sherbet and mixed fruit and everyone just RAVED N LOVED it. I was so proud since it was my first time making a punch lol. Absolutely delicious.
April Woods says
yay! so glad you enjoyed our sherbet punch!
Joyce says
Has anyone tried blending the strawberries and peaches so they are in liquid form?joyce
April Woods says
I haven’t but I’m sure it would be yummy. More of a smoothie or milkshake consistency probably. 🙂
TAMMY says
Usually i just mix several juice flavors together and add soda to serve it as a drink. Other times I add vanilla ice cream and make it a punch. My grandmother used to make koolaid and add lemon-lime soda to it.
Samantha says
Could you use a sorbet instead of sherbet for a dairy free punch?
April Woods says
Sure 🙂
