They’re sweet, tropical, a little creamy (but not too much), and best of all ridiculously easy. Think juicy pineapple meets a whisper of lime, kissed with real vanilla and turned into icy magic. They hit that perfect spot between fruity and dreamy.

Whether you’re serving them after a long day, packing them for the kids, or just sneaking one while pretending you’re on a beach in Bora Bora these popsicles are summer in a bite.

Why You’ll Love These Pineapple Popsicles

Summer is officially on (at least in my mind), and honestly? I’m bringing all the flavor of summer with this dessert!

  • Ridiculously simple: Only 4 ingredients and a blender. Yes, really.
  • No weird junk: Fresh flavors + real ingredients = total bliss.
  • Customizable creaminess: Add more or less cream depending on how dreamy you want them.
  • Totally refreshing: Sweet pineapple with a hint of lime? Chef’s kiss.

These popsicles are inspired by the classic Dole Whip dessert at Magic Kingdom, that bright, tropical pineapple flavor with just enough creaminess to feel indulgent without being heavy. I wanted that same cold, refreshing, Florida-heat-approved energy, but in popsicle form. The crushed pineapple keeps the flavor bold and fruity, while the splash of cream smooths everything out so it freezes up soft and creamy instead of icy. If you love Dole Whip, this one’s going to feel instantly familiar.

Ingredients for Dole Whip Pineapple Popsicles

  • Crushed pineapple – We used canned (no draining!) but fresh works beautifully too.
  • Heavy whipping cream – The more you add, the richer and creamier the popsicles. Taste as you go!
  • Lime juice – Bright, zesty popsicle vibes.
  • Real vanilla extract – Trust me, it makes these taste next level.

So simple – made with just a handful of simple ingredients that work together perfectly!

Step By Step Directions

  1. Blend it up: Add crushed pineapple, heavy cream, lime juice, and vanilla to your upright blender (or use a stick blender).
    Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Taste test: This part is key! If you want them creamier, add a little more heavy cream and blend again.
  3. Pour into molds: Grab your favorite popsicle molds and fill ’em up. (I linked my favorite ones below these are so easy to fill and pop out.)
  4. Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer for at least 4–6 hours, or overnight.
  5. Enjoy! Run warm water over the outside of the mold to release, and enjoy pure summer bliss.

Tips & Tricks for Best Results

  • Fresh pineapple swap: If you’re using fresh pineapple, blend first, then measure out 20 ounces for the best texture.
  • Cream level: Start with 5 ounces of cream and add more only if you want that silky, dreamy texture, the pops still taste amazing with less cream!
  • Serving idea: Sprinkle a tiny pinch of toasted coconut on top before freezing for extra tropical flair.

Notes

Calories are automatically generated. For best results calculate based on your exact ingredients.
Recipe Notes
  • Taste the mixture before freezing and adjust the amount of cream to your preference. More cream = softer, creamier popsicles.
  • For a brighter, more pineapple-forward flavor, stay closer to 5 ounces of cream; for a Dole Whip–style texture, use closer to 10 ounces.
  • Do not drain the pineapple.
  • If the popsicles are hard to release, run the outside of the molds under warm water for a few seconds and they’ll slide right out.

Tools we love

  • Ninja blender – We. Love. This. Blender. It blends all the things!  Beautifully!  No scraping the sides like I did in my old blender.  And for a super reasonable price.  My favorite thing to blend is Strawberry Lime Slushes!
  • Popsicle molds – We love these popsicle molds! Perfect size and easy to pop the popsicles out when they’re done!

Frequently asked questions

Can I use fresh pineapple instead of canned?

Yes! Fresh pineapple works great. Just blend it first, then measure out about 20 ounces so the texture stays the same.

How creamy are these popsicles?

That’s totally up to you. Using closer to 5 ounces of cream keeps them light and fruity, while 10 ounces makes them more rich and Dole Whip–like.

Do I need to drain the pineapple?

Nope, don’t drain it. The juice is part of what gives these popsicles their delicious flavor and texture.

How long do they take to freeze?

Plan on at least 4 to 6 hours, though overnight is best if you want them fully set and easy to remove from the molds.

So I just tried to make these. Put everything into the blender and blended it all then decided I wanted more cream so I put more cream in it then blended it again and then it all separated.. Do you know what might have caused that?!

    1. i think you might have blended the cream all the way into butter! whoops!

  4. Can this be frozen and scooped like ice cream rather than in a popsicle mold?

    1. I think it would be too icy? Maybe in an ice cream churner?

    2. Katherine says:

I tried freezing it for later….got rock hard. Had to wait for it to thaw out and then just had to eat it. Don’t think it will work for do-overs.

  5. How many does this recipe make?

    1. Hi Megan! It totally depends on your popsicle molds. it creates 25 – 30 oz of liquid. 🙂 I used 3 oz molds, so we had about 10 popsicles.
