Why you’ll love this recipe!

📌 Sweet and delicious fully of white chocolate and banana goodness.

📌 Great for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a sweet treat following dinner.

📌 Easy to double or triple and freeze some loaves for later.

White Chocolate Banana Bread Ingredients

  • Butter – Salted butter, softened.
  • Brown sugar – Gently packed.
  • Eggs – Large eggs.
  • Bananas – If you pay attention to nothing else in this article, pay attention to this, please!  Make sure your bananas are super duper extra ripe.  This is important for a sweet moist banana bread.
  • Salt – Skip this if you’re watching your salt intake, but I love the balance of sweet and saltiness.
  • Vanilla – Real vanilla extract.
  • Baking soda – For leavening.
  • Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon.
  • Flour – All purpose flour.
  • White chocolate – We used chips, but chunks or a chopped white chocolate bar would also work well.

HOW TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD

How do you make banana bread with white chocolate chips? (step-by-step)

⭐ First, in a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and brown sugar.

⭐ Next, add eggs, bananas, salt, vanilla, baking soda, and cinnamon. Blend well.

⭐ Then, gently stir in flour, then white chocolate chips.

⭐ Finally, pour into a well greased loaf pan (we use this substitute for cooking spray) and bake on the center rack. Check with a toothpick for doneness.

Fold the chips in gently before pouring the batter into your loaf pan.

Preparation

Can I make white chocolate banana bread batter ahead of time?

You can make the batter up to a day in advance and store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator.  If the batter thickens too much, stir in a small amount of water or milk until it is just pourable before baking.

How long do you leave banana bread in the pan after baking?

You can carefully turn it out of the pan immediately after baking and place it on a cooling rack.  In our house though, it’s usually gobbled up directly from the pan while still warm.

Is the bread supposed to be moist?

Banana bread is supposed to be very moist and moderately dense.  The bananas themselves are very moist, and then add to that your butter and you have a deliciously moist bread.

How do I know if my banana bread is done?

You know it’s done when you can stick a long toothpick down the center of the bread and it comes out clean.  If the toothpick comes out clean, do not continue baking the bread or you will end up with dry or burnt result.

Storage and leftovers

Do you have to refrigerate white chocolate chip banana bread?

Refrigeration is not necessary, but it will extend the life of your banana bread for several days.

How long does banana bread with white chocolate last?

You can keep the bread at room temperature in a cool dry environment for 2 – 3 days, in the refrigerator (in a sealed container) for up to a week, or frozen (wrapped and sealed) indefinitely.

Can you freeze banana bread?

Yes, to freeze it you’ll want to wait for the loaf to cool completely.  Then wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then again in foil, or place in a sealed container (freezer bag or tupperware).

Tips, tricks, and frequently asked questions

What if I don’t have a loaf pan?

You can absolutely make quick bread without a loaf pan!  This can be prepared in any oven safe dish. Just make sure to check for doneness a little bit earlier if the pan you choose is shallower than a loaf pan.

Why is my bread dry?

There are a few reasons your bread may be too dry.  Check to make sure you’re adding the correct amount of butter – even skimping a little can cause the bread to be dry.  You’ll also want to make sure you’re using at least medium sized bananas in your recipe.

And finally, make sure you’re not cooking it too long.  If your oven is not properly calibrated and is cooking at too high a temperature, it may end up dry.

Why did my white chocolate banana bread sink in the middle?

If you substituted baking powder for baking soda in your recipe and used too much, it can sometimes cause the banana bread to rise too quickly and then fall in the middle. Watch your measurements closely!

You can also add nuts and seeds for texture if you’d like.

  1. Your directions say to add PEANUT BUTTER but pb isn’t listed in the ingredients.
Should this residue include peanut butter?

    1. Sorry, I’m not sure why it says that. This recipe does not call for peanut butter. I’ve updated the recipe card 🙂
