Preparation
What kind of seasoning for crockpot turkey breast?
We use a blend of Kinder’s Buttery Steakhouse seasoning, poultry seasoning, garlic salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, and fresh sage.
I know some folk are iffy on the flavor of sage, so it can be omitted if you like. If you have trouble locating Kinder’s seasoning, it can be substituted with your favorite all purpose seasoning in a pinch (but try to find it, it’s so good!).
Should I use a boneless turkey breast or bone in turkey breast in the slow cooker?
You’ll definitely want to use a bone-in, skin on turkey breast for the most moist and flavorful result.
That said, if you can’t find one (or have a strong aversion to skin and bones) then a boneless-skinless turkey breast can be substituted.
How do I know when my slow cooker turkey breast is done?
The breast is done when it reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees fahrenheit as read by an internal meat thermometer.
How long should you cook a turkey breast in a slow cooker?
A turkey breast takes about 6 hours on low or 4 hours on high in the crockpot.
Add the turkey next.
Storage and leftovers
How long does leftover turkey last?
Leftover turkey will keep for 3 – 5 days in the refrigerator. Make sure to store in a sealed container for best results. If the turkey has been out at room temperature for longer than two hours, it should be disposed of.
Can you freeze leftover turkey?
Leftover turkey can be frozen! Allow it to come to room temperature, then store in its juices in a freezer safe container.
I like to remove the meat from the bone before freezing. It can be kept frozen indefinitely.
How do you keep leftover turkey moist?
Store it in its juices or pour a container of turkey or chicken stock over it before storing! This will keep the meat from drying out and it will taste great for several days.
Reheat it in the juices too!
Mix up the melted butter and seasonings.
Turkey Breast Temperature
What is a safe temperature for turkey breast?
The safe temperature for turkey breast is 165 degrees fahrenheit. This temperature is safe to eat and will yield a nice moist turkey.
The maximum temperature you should cook a turkey to is 185 degrees fahrenheit. Any warmer and it will be dry and have a texture that is difficult and unpleasant to chew.
How do you tell if turkey has reached a safe temperature?
The best way to know if your turkey breast has reached a safe temperature is by using an instant read internal digital meat thermometer. There are even some meat thermometers that can be left in the turkey while it’s cooking so you know exactly when to pull it out!
Make sure to insert the thermometer probe into the deepest part of the meat for an accurate reading.
Pour over turkey and spread evenly.

They didn’t have the Kinder’s seasoning at my local grocery store, but I found it at Walmart. So tasty, and I love that it doesn’t have MSG. The turkey turned out so moist in the crock pot!

I can’t wait to try this recipe. My oven is broken for the third time (2nd time with the bottom heat element, and once when the burner broke off and it is a gas stove!!) so this will be nice to try in the crock pot. I have been using my air fryer/oven/toaster, but the crock pot would be good for this. Thank you for the recipe!
