📌 Two simple ingredients topped with an egg wash.
📌 Add seasonings or toppings to your liking.
📌 Can be made in the air fryer or in the oven.
Ingredients for 2 Ingredient Bagels
- Flour – Self rising flour. (Make sure you get self-rising, this is crucial to the recipe!)
- Yogurt – Plain Greek yogurt.
- Egg – Whisked for the egg wash.
- Optional toppings – Everything bagel seasoning, shredded parmesan cheese.
How do you make bagels with only two ingredients? (step-by-step directions)
⭐ First, fold together the flour and the yogurt. Knead until the dough is no longer sticky, sprinkling extra flour if needed to form into a ball. Cut the ball into 4 even sections.
⭐ Next, roll each of the sections into a ball and gently pinch a hole in the middle, shaping the outside into a ring. Gently place onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
⭐ Then, brush the tops of the dough with the whisked egg and sprinkle on any desired toppings (everything bagel seasoning or shredded parmesan cheese).
⭐ Finally, bake until the bagels are cooked through and the tops are golden brown.

Preparation
What kind of flour to use for two ingredient bagels?
This recipe calls for self-rising flour. It’s important to use this specific type of flour as it has leavening ingredients already added.
Self rising flour contains salt and baking powder so if you don’t have any self-rising flour you will need to add those two extra ingredients.
What kind of yogurt for two ingredient bagels?
Full fat plain Greek yogurt is what is needed for this recipe. It seems impossible but these two ingredients together make a delicious (and protein packed) bagel.
How do you know when the bagels are done?
The bagels are done when they’ve puffed up or have nearly doubled in size and are turning golden brown on the outside.
Can I make two ingredient bagels in the air fryer?
Yes! Bake in the air fryer at 350°F for 10 minutes or until puffed up, cooked through and the tops are golden brown. See our air fryer bagel recipe for full directions!
Storage and leftovers
How long do two ingredient bagels last?
These will keep for around a week at room temperature in a cool and dry environment. They will keep up to two weeks in the refrigerator and indefinitely in the freezer.
Do you have to refrigerate two ingredient bagels?
No, bagels can be kept at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for best results. That said, they will keep longer in the refrigerator.
Can you freeze two ingredient bagels?
Yes, allow the bagels to cool completely and store them in an airtight container in the freezer.
I like to slice the bagels in half before freezing so you can pop them right into the toaster straight from the freezer. Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
Tips and tricks
✅ Play around with the flavors!
- Add some garlic powder to the dough and sprinkle the top with shredded parmesan cheese.
- Make a cinnamon sugar bagel by sprinkling the top with a cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Top with everything bagel seasoning, either store-bought or our homemade version.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and diced jalapenos
✅ Every appliance is different so make sure to keep an eye on your bagels as they cook so they don’t overcook.
✅ The egg wash gives the bagels that shiny glow when they are baked. You can skip this step if desired.
✅ If the dough is too sticky, add some flour. If it is too dry you can add a little more yogurt.
